Agape Meal Today: After the service today, we will share a meal together in the cafeteria. All are welcome!

Ladies Bible Study Beginning this Week: We are starting our new Bible study this Thursday, January 11th. We will be doing 1 & 2 Thessalonians, using a study guide by Kathleen Nielson. We will be meeting at the home of Tayla Bonin from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tayla's address is 11824 - 195th Ave NW in Elk River.

Annual Business Meeting Sunday January 14: Join us for the Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 14 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the home of Dave and Susan Fergus. We will be voting on the annual budget, hearing about the newly formed building team, and hearing about the vision for 2018. Members are asked to attend but all are welcome.

Sunday School Schedule in the New Year: All Sunday school classes will resume next week, January 14. See the back of the announcements for the adult Sunday school schedule.

All-Church Prayer Meeting: Mark your calendars and plan to join us for the All-Church Prayer Meeting on Wednesday, January 31 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Handke Center. We will be lifting up the corporate and personal needs of GCF as well as our ministry teams and our local and global outreach ministries.

I know I am a little bit overweight. My doctor tells me so. The mirror that I look into affirms it and the scale (that I mostly avoid) reminds me every time I step on it. For me there is something magical about the beach, especially on the Atlantic side with the waves washing up against the shoreline. Rejoicing in the Wrath of God: Part 1 by Pastor Charlie Handren

This Sunday we resume our study of the book of Revelation and within the first eight verses of chapter 6 we will encounter the wrath of God being poured out upon the world. In one sense, being confronted with the reality of God’s wrath is uncomfortable at best, but in another sense, it fills the believing heart with joy. One of the first essays I wrote in college was on the wrath and love of God, and probably the main effect it has had on my life is to cause joy to rise up in my heart whenever I contemplate God’s wrath.
