Prayer for the Land-Building Issues this Wednesday January 31: We will devote this quarterly prayer meeting to the land-building issues developing. Please come and call on the name of Jesus with us as we seek his will, unity, resources, and power with regard to the long-term future of Glory of Christ Fellowship. We will meet in the cafeteria at the Handke Center from 630-8:00 p.m. For more information, contact Pastor Charlie, charlie@gcfmn.org.

Agape Meal Next Sunday: Next week is Communion Sunday and we will share a meal together after the service. See the back of the announcements for full details about this monthly, all-church meal.

Abba Pregnancy Resource Center’s Baby Bottle Fundraiser: January is Sanctity of Human Life Month. Pick up a baby bottle at the Abba table and fill it with cash or check. All proceeds will benefit Abba’s ministry in our community. We will collect bottles until February 12. If you have questions, feel free to ask Julie Springfield.

Community Group Leaders’ Meeting Saturday February 3: Pray for the Community Group leaders as they gather for a time of training, collaboration, and prayer on February 3 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at the church office. Faith Biblical Counseling Conference February 23-24: Join us at Grace Church Eden Prairie for three weekends (one per month) of training in Biblical Counseling. This year the leaders of Faith Church Lafayette (Indiana) will offer the Track 1 and Track 4 trainings. Track 1 lays the foundation of biblical counseling principles and practices, and Track 4 deals with advanced counseling issues (Track 1 is a prerequisite). Reflective Glory: How the Moon Displays the Mercy of God

Our sun is a fitting metaphor for the glory of God. In the context of our solar system, it is massive, bright, beautiful, powerful, self-sufficient, heat-producing, life-giving, and dangerous. It is, by far, the dominant feature of our solar system and without it the system would fling apart and all living things therein would die.  On the other hand, our moon is a fitting metaphor for human beings, especially for those who believe in Jesus Christ. First, compared to the sun, the moon is tiny and dim. The sun is 400 times larger than the moon, its mass is 27 million times greater than the mass of the moon, and from our perspective its light shines 450,000 times brighter than that of the moon. The sun is so much greater than the moon that it’s difficult to quantify and express the difference.
