1. Read 2 Samuel 6:1-4. To where did David take a journey and who did he
bring with him? What was the purpose of the journey and why? Why did they build
a new cart for the ark?
2. Read 2 Samuel 6:5-10. What was Israel’s disposition as they traveled
back to Jerusalem? What did Uzzah do and why? Why was this wrong and why did
the Lord strike him? How did David respond and why?
3. Read 2 Samuel 6:11-15. What finally persuaded David to bring the ark to
Jerusalem? Precisely how did he do so? Why were he and the others rejoicing
along the way?
4. Read 2 Samuel 6:16-19. Why did Michal despise David? Where did David
place the ark? Specifically, what did he do when it was settled? How does this reveal
David’s heart?
5. Read 2 Samuel 6:20-23. What did David desire to do for his household?
How did Michal respond and why? How do you understand David’s response to her? Why
do you suppose Michal was barren for life?
