Download the New GCF App: A new GCF app will be available to the church and we will be offering some explanation about it on Wednesday night at the annual meeting. We encourage you to download the app to your phone prior to the meeting so you can reference it. Text the keyword 'gloryofchrist app' to 77977 to download the app. Completion of the app is still in progress.

Annual Business Meeting January 20: Join us for the Annual Business Meeting on Wednesday, January 20 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Living Waters. We will be voting on the annual budget, church treasurer, talking with the prospective elders and hearing updates from the elder team progress. This meeting will be available by Zoom but you must be present to vote. Members are asked to attend but all are welcome.

Delaying the Vote on Elders: Though we are very encouraged by the progress the prospective elder team has made so far we simply need a little more time to prepare before bringing Jesse Daas, Phil Thompson and Erik Aleckson before the congregation for a vote. However, in order to allow the congregation to know these men a little better, everyone will have the opportunity to ask them questions on January 20. We will be setting a date for vote as soon as possible.

I know I am a little bit overweight. My doctor tells me so. The mirror that I look into affirms it and the scale (that I mostly avoid) reminds me every time I step on it. This Sunday we resume our study of the book of Revelation and within the first eight verses of chapter 6 we will encounter the wrath of God being poured out upon the world. In one sense, being confronted with the reality of God’s wrath is uncomfortable at best, but in another sense, it fills the believing heart with joy. One of the first essays I wrote in college was on the wrath and love of God, and probably the main effect it has had on my life is to cause joy to rise up in my heart whenever I contemplate God’s wrath. Sometime ago I shared this with a pastor friend of mine and though he said nothing in response, he looked at me as if to say, “If you knew anything about the wrath of God, you would not rejoice in it.” At the time, I wasn't sure how to respond, but I knew that the joy in my heart was not stemming from a belittling of the horror of the wrath of God.
