Change in Location for Sunday Worship Services from July 16-August 20: We will be worshiping at Elk River High School in the Little Theater July 16 through August 20. Mark your calendars and plan to join us there!
Quarterly Business Meeting Sunday, August 20: Join us for a time of sharing, thanksgiving, and prayer as we gather to celebrate what the Lord has done over the last year and to dream about what he might do in the coming year. The meeting will take place after the worship service on August 20, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the Little Theater. Contact Pastor Charlie for more information (charlie@gcfmn.org).
All-Church Prayer Meeting Wednesday, August 30: Join us for a time of prayer on Wednesday, August 30 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Handke Center. At this meeting, we will pray over our tenth anniversary celebration and all that entails, as well as our local and global missions efforts. All Sunday School Classes to begin on September 17: Sunday School will start again soon. If you would like to help with the ministry, talk with Pastor Kevin.
Glory of Christ Fellowship’s Tenth Anniversary Celebration Sunday, October 1: By the grace of God, we will celebrate ten years of ministry and life together on Sunday, October 1! Be sure to mark this date, plan to be there, and invite friends and family to join in the party. Besides our normal worship service and agape meal, we’ll have several special guests and greetings from afar, and another surprise or two along the way!
Wednesday Morning Prayer Meeting: Join us for this weekly time of prayer as we bring our praises and requests to the Lord. The meeting takes place every week at the church office from 6:00-7:00 a.m.

Billy Graham, Holiness, and Leadership

A few years ago, I was listening to a radio program on which Marshall Shelley was being interviewed about his new book, The Leadership Secrets of Billy Graham (Zondervan, 2005). They were giving away a few copies of the book to those who called in, and something inside me felt compelled to call. But I didn’t have a good question to ask, so I prayed to the Lord and said, “If you want me to have a copy of this book, please give me a good question to ask and I’ll call.” I’m not sure if the Lord gave me this question or if it just popped into my head, but one way or the other, I thought to ask about the connection in Billy’s life between his private pursuit of holiness and integrity, and his public effectiveness and longevity. It is featured in a new resource available through Children’s Desiring God called Discipleship through Doctrinal Teaching and Catechism by Sally Michael.  It is our desire to encourage parents to use a children’s catechism as a tool in building and strengthening faith in children. A simple definition of a catechism is “organized teaching.” Catechisms are not the only things that can or should be used to instruct the next generation, yet they have useful purposes.
