Nursery Volunteer Training Meeting: All Nursery volunteers are asked to report to room 112 ten minutes after the conclusion of the worship service for a brief,15 minute training.
Summer Sign Up: Please be sure to sign up for some of the upcoming summer activities such as the Father/Son Quest (July 23-26) and the Student Ministries Camping Trip (August 9-12). Contact Pastor Kevin to reserve your spot on these trips. More information on family related summer activities can be found in the Family Ministries monthly newsletter (available on the table and on the GCF website).
Sermon Discussion Questions: The sermon discussion questions can be found each week on the GCF website (resources, sermons).
Thursday Morning Prayer Meeting: Please join us for an hour of prayer on Thursday mornings from 6:00-7:00 a.m. at the church office. Women should bring at least one other person with them so that we can honor the Lord by maintaining appropriate boundaries. If you are unable to stop by the church office, feel free to join in wherever you are.
Youth Baptism Meeting: If you are interested in pursuing baptism for your son or daughter there is a meeting on Tuesday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. in preparation for our upcoming baptism service. Contact Pastor Kevin for more details.
Summer Picnic, June 28: Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 28. Following the worship service there will be an all-church picnic at the Ryks home. More details will be coming in mid June.

Our sun is a fitting metaphor for the glory of God. In the context of our solar system, it is massive, bright, beautiful, powerful, self-sufficient, heat-producing, life-giving, and dangerous. Rejoicing in the Wrath of God: Part 1 by Pastor Charlie Handren

This Sunday we resume our study of the book of Revelation and within the first eight verses of chapter 6 we will encounter the wrath of God being poured out upon the world. In one sense, being confronted with the reality of God’s wrath is uncomfortable at best, but in another sense, it fills the believing heart with joy.  One of the first essays I wrote in college was on the wrath and love of God, and probably the main effect it has had on my life is to cause joy to rise up in my heart whenever I contemplate God’s wrath. Sometime ago I shared this with a pastor friend of mine and though he said nothing in response, he looked at me as if to say, “If you knew anything about the wrath of God, you would not rejoice in it.” At the time, I wasn't sure how to respond, but I knew that the joy in my heart was not stemming from a belittling of the horror of the wrath of God.
