Quarterly Strategy Meeting: Please join us for our regular church strategy meeting on May 3, 2015 from 11:30-1:00 at the Handke.
Safe Families for Children: A ministry which helps families in crisis. Services include temporary housing for children whose parents have lost jobs, homes or are going through rehabilitation. Safe Families’ main focus is family reunification by preventing children from entering the state’s social services. Most of the families in need have limited support systems. The ministry calls families from local churches to host the children. Each host family shares the love of Christ through this act of service. Spring Outreach: The Abba Pregnancy Resource Center's Spring Banquet will take place on May 14, 2015 and GCF is set to have a significant role in it. Five of our members are serving on the Banquet Committee, and more than ten others are committed to helping in one way or other. Please see your bulletins for more information and ways you can be involved. Most of all, please join us in praying that God will pour out his blessings upon the ministry of Abba and upon the pro-life movement at large.
Thursday Morning Prayer Meeting: Please join us for an hour of prayer on Thursday mornings from 6:00-7:00 a.m. at the church office. Women should bring at least one other person with them so that we can honor the Lord by maintaining appropriate boundaries. If you are unable to stop by the church office, feel free to join in wherever you are. For more information, contact Pastor Charlie at charlie@gcfmn.org.

Our sun is a fitting metaphor for the glory of God. In the context of our solar system, it is massive, bright, beautiful, powerful, self-sufficient, heat-producing, life-giving, and dangerous. Rejoicing in the Wrath of God: Part 1 by Pastor Charlie Handren

This Sunday we resume our study of the book of Revelation and within the first eight verses of chapter 6 we will encounter the wrath of God being poured out upon the world. In one sense, being confronted with the reality of God’s wrath is uncomfortable at best, but in another sense, it fills the believing heart with joy.  One of the first essays I wrote in college was on the wrath and love of God, and probably the main effect it has had on my life is to cause joy to rise up in my heart whenever I contemplate God’s wrath. Sometime ago I shared this with a pastor friend of mine and though he said nothing in response, he looked at me as if to say, “If you knew anything about the wrath of God, you would not rejoice in it.” At the time, I wasn't sure how to respond, but I knew that the joy in my heart was not stemming from a belittling of the horror of the wrath of God.
