Our aim in this series is to help Glory of Christ Fellowship grow in our understanding of truth, our love of the God of truth, our love of one another, and our love of unbelievers. The Affirmation is made up of eight articles of faith, the first of which is entitled “The Trinity” and reads as follows: We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit; and that these are the same divine essence and are equal in every divine perfection, but that they have different roles (Genesis 1:1,26; John 1:1-3; Matthew 28:19; John 4:24; Romans 1:19-20; Ephesians 4:5-6).      The reality of the Tri-unity of God is one of the greatest mysteries of the universe. Delighting in Truth: Our Membership Affirmation of Faith, by Pastor Charlie

At Glory of Christ Fellowship, we operate under two affirmations of faith: the Member Affirmation of Faith (MAF) and the Elder Affirmation of Faith (EAF). The MAF is a basic theological statement that we require all church members to affirm while the EAF is a more detailed statement that we require elders, deacons, team leaders, and interns to affirm. The reason we have two theological statements rather than one is this: while the door into the body of Christ ought to be as wide as the Bible will allow, the door into the leadership of the church ought to be more narrow, assuring as much theological and practical unity as possible.      Over the next nine weeks we’ll be dedicating the Sunday morning devotionals to the MAF, one section at a time. The purpose of this statement is to express the truths that a Christian must not deny, or preferably, would affirm. It is not meant to represent all that a Christian should believe, but rather to lay a general theological foundation upon

Love Comes from God, by Pastor Kevin Feder

And the Lord said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, even as the Lord loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love cakes of raisins.” Hosea 3:1      We know that Love comes from God. Love does not come from within us. Recently, I wanted to help my own children see this point so I told them the story of Hosea, a man whom God had asked to marry an adulterous woman and stay faithful to her.      My children questioned this quickly, with confusion even “why would God ask Hosea to do this?” The way the question rolls off the tongue reveals how foreign biblical love truly is to us since we tend to love those who love us in return. Jesus had something to say about this in Matthew 5:46. In his call to love our enemies he confronted the worldly notion of love by saying that even the worst of sinners is inclined to love those from whom they get something in return.      The tone of my child’s question made the
